Hey fellows, a heavy topic. We will all agree that we joined NoFap with a common goal which is to bring positive changes to our life which starts by not masturbating(well supposedly atleast). The reason we think that is true is that there has been some serious backing to that theory in the name of sexual sublimation. The common belief is to abstain oneself from anything sexual(masturbating, porn and daydreaming) except for sex and that too without ejaculation and focusing the high pent up energy on your goals.Fair enough because conserving your seminal fluids adds up.But then again when we indulge in anything sexual and until we have ejaculated our brains functions really fast.Is it not that if we use that increased brain power in our higher pursuits in life also sexual sublimation. Its totally confusing, hell people have all sorts of explanations, if only Napolean Hill(Think and Grow Rich for creditworks) would have been more clearer about what he meant by sexual transmutation.Any insights???

Have a good look at these threads for now and then feel free to come back with any questions and although I'm still learning myself I will help in any way I can etc. And I think it warrants a mention that the real benefits of nofap in this context can only be achieved by engaging in sublimation practices as the aroused energy has to be 'moved' inwards and upwards to be sublimated and I know what you mean about the frustration of Hill mentioning it could be done but omitting to say how etc! Cheers :)

Thanks for the input my friend. It is a relief to finally talk about this openly.People generally are unable to come to terms with the topic itself. Will keep you posted.

Yes its a little understood topic and if I may be so bold I truly believe that the influence of pornography and the extremely limited ideas about what sex actually IS it proliferates has a great deal to do with that. These ancient practices are to sex what fine cuisine is to food and yet we have all been gorging on MacDonalds!!;) (such has been the influence of the sex industry!) and the more you learn about them the more 'cheated' you feel that you didn't taste them sooner!

An important consideration for those choosing not to ejaculate, for whatever reason. Please note that when sexual/creative energy is not expressed/directed via either external or internal orgasm/sublimation (and it's understandable most are not aware of the latter) it can cause all kinds of dis-ease and so I would go as far as to say that if you are NOT ejaculating it's essential to cultivate sexual energy transmutation practices asap which are simple to learn and practice with a little application etc.

To me this poses a fundamental problem for the NoFap community because simply put there is fapping with and fapping without ejaculation and maybe a clear distinction needs to be made between the two because, as stated earlier, creative energy seeks to express itself and repression of this (as with any other kind of repression) will have consequences so this is something well worth addressing and I guess my initial question would be to ask is self-arousal (to stir and distribute/sublimate sexual energy) WITHOUT ejaculation still masturbation? (and I know people 'edge' but that's not the same as energy sublimation.) Or are we here to stop ejaculation outside of actual sexual encounters with another person and especially when stimulated by pornography of any description?
