I have been relapsing over and over again for a whole year now. My fapping addiction became so bad that I gave up on trying to quit, if that makes any sense. When I restrict porn on my phone and laptop, I somehow always find another site to fap to, like instagram which is filled with female models and sometimes youtube. Going outside and exercising helped me out a lot, although I still find time to fap throughout the day and I cant stop myself from resisting. What are some of your tips when you cant resist the strong urges to fap?

Turn off your laptop, smartphone, technology and if you do this, you cannot watch p. Give up technology. This is my advices for you, my friend.

Cold showers also help to overcome urges.

Giving up technology is not an option for me because my school requires me to do a lot of presentations and assignments on my laptop which requires me to do online research. And I usually get urges that make me to stop my work and to fap. I will try cold showers though, thanks

Try using technology for recovery purposes rather than fapping. Like checking in to this site at least once a day, use technology to explore new "safe" interests and hobbies, watching videos on You Tube about recovery from porn addiction and the 12 steps. Have phone number of people you can call when you are vulnerable or struggling. Send texts and emails with good wishes and encouragement to others, in recovery and outside. Sleep and rest regularly too.

Stop following those pages and channels. Stop saving things in IG, YT, and bookmarks, I know you think it will be a big loss, but isn't . Do a clean of your social media for completely. And try to leave the addiction from less to more, I mean, start leaving it the way I did. First 1 fap at day, then 1 day abstaining, and then 2 and that way you will see that the addiction is created for bad habit, make little goals and try to focus in the present. Do new things that you like. Things you never tried. Don't push yourself, that will end in more anxiety. Bless.

Ok, I understand that. I recommend you to use technology just for your project, not for anything else.

Look, I know people who have erection when he saw a computer(or smartphone, laptop etc.), because their brain make a connection betwen p and computer. It's a hard work and I know it's hard to abstain from p when urges are coming and you are connected.
That's why I don't use technology(only if it strictly necessary) in my free time!

Lots of us been there. Keep yourself occupied, understand how harmful those habits are. Definitely keep excercise, this is great. I think that habing good internal life helps greatly with nofap. Reconnect to your religion, if you are not this case of person maybe read classics of philosophy and ethics and meditate. Virtue is knowledge it must be learned and practiced as Socrates said.

Colleges typically have libraries with computers. You can do the research on those computers and transfer the data or presentation materials to your laptop when required. It is possible to heavily restrict and even give up technology and succeed in school work. In any event, porn blockers typically do not heavily restrict one's ability to research things online.

If you really want to end this addiction, sacrifices will have to be made. And, soon enough, the inconvenience will seem normal. You will adapt. Trust me, it is better to take the addiction seriously early on rather than waste years half-assing attempts to quit.
