Hey everyone. Just signed up to NoFap.

I need to get my life back in order so bad. I'm addicted to porn and excessive masturbation. I don't know if the way I'm living like is healthy or not, but I want to get this under control. I'm 24 and I've tried to quit before, but it has never lasted for more than a week.

If my day is chock-full of activities, I can only manage to masturbate once, just before bed. But it's the days when I'm free where I spend pretty much half the day watching porn and masturbating. I'll be on leave from now till the end of June, and that scares me. I won't have anything to do and I'll be free of any tasks to do. I need to find a way to control my impulses, or at the very least, find some new hobbies that will distract me.

That's pretty much about it. Hope to reach a 100-day streak, with all your help! :)

Good luck, mate. Definitely find hobbies to do.

You can also modify your environment suite the challenge better. e.g. Set up website blockers

Yeah, I'm looking at starting with basic physical exercises and then gradually ramp it up from there. Can help me lose a bit of weight too, I guess. I've signed up for a couple of online courses, just so I stay busy and get something done in the time. Website blockers seems like a very good idea. Thanks for your suggestion!

Regarding starting an exercise habit, you may find apps such as perigee.se/apps/seven/ useful.

In my first year of university I did hardly any exercise due to no more mandatory sport. Then I used that app and it helped me to build the habit. (and I became noticeably more muscular after a year of doing it.)

The key to success is to start very small in the beginning. (e.g. 7 mins) Make it so easy that you can't say no. And do it consistently every day.
