Is PIED/anxiety or prone masturbation causing my ED?

I'm 24 years old. As a teen I was addicted to porn and only knew of prone masturbation (lying on your stomach). I indulged multiple times a day. In college, I had numerous opportunities for intercourse. Unfortunately, I have yet to have a sexual experience (whether that's masturbation alone or intercourse with a partner) where I am able to maintain a sufficient erection. I noticed that I can only "flex" my penis to improve the erection for a brief second. Additionally, I notice my erections are sometimes better when doing doggy sex, but it only last a few seconds.

I gave up prone masturbation 5 years ago. I also gave up porn at the start of this year (90+ days and counting). Unfortunately, I have not seen any improvements in my erections.

I consider myself average healthy (skinny/ectomorph) with moderate exercise. I've had lots of blood work completed (miner B12/D deficiency and occasional high TSH). I would consider myself generally more anxious. I occasionally notice funky twitching in my scrotum. On a side note, I'm investigating chronic lightheaded and fatigue issues I have been experiencing for many years.

Can anyone relate or have recommendations on which direction I should explore?

    Thank you!

Prone masturbation takes a long time to heal from and can cause severe ED. You may need pills to get a full erection.

Is it reversible? Please tell me that I can get my full erections back eventually...I friggin don't want pills.

It’s reversible but it takes a long time. 6-9 months easy. My situation is a little more complicated because I take anti depressants too. Prone is the worst thing you can do to your dick. I can’t even masturbate using just my hand. I’ve tried but nothing happens. I can come if somebody is giving me a handjob.

I've been 5 years without prone masturbation and 3 months without porn, yet I still have trouble. Do you think my body is still in recovery from prone or it may be other causes for my ED at this point?

What keeps getting me is the occasional, brief seconds I've seen myself with a nice erection (good girth, firmness). That makes me feel like the pipes are in somewhat decent condition, but for some reason (physical or psychological) it's unable to keep the blood in there?

Are there specific factors you recommend I look into next?

After 5 years I don’t think it’s physical unless you have depression, are obese, etc. Sounds more psychological like performance anxiety.

I have been dealing with a plethora or fatigue/random symptoms that may be depression/anxiety related. Planning to start treatment for this and see if it improves in any aspect of my life. Will keep everyone posted on my progress.

For my fellow ex-prone folks, I have a theory about why some of us may not be recovering the way we like. This may be a long shot, but here me out and let me know what you think:

I would do prone against a carpeted floor. As is with most prone masturbation, your penis will be forced downward against your legs. Over time the penis gets used to being turned on while being forced down and not being fully erect. Even after giving up prone, the brain/muscle memory is likely still looking for that same downward and restrictive force. Now imagine when you get turned on when you see someone or you get the slightest morning wood/arousal while sleeping. More than likely your underwear/pants are providing the same restrictive force against your arousal. I'm curious if these types of situation could prevent us from making an excellent recovery by being a constant reminder/pleasure for our brain of our old habit? If so, it seems the only way to stop this is to allow your penis to be more free when possible (e.g. sleeping naked and not letting it rest between your thighs, etc.)

    What do you guys think?

I go commando and sleep nude and haven’t noticed a difference though I do get hard ons in the mornings that way.

Prone is bad from a pressure point of view. No vagina can provide that much pressure. I’m 42 and damaged myself pretty bad from prone. I doubt I’ll ever fully recover. I can have cowgirl and reverse cowgirl sex periodically if I stay hard long enough but that’s rare.

Have you tried any medications to help with your erections? Did it work/what was the experience like?
