I get infrequent morning wood now, porn doesn't get me an erection, etc.

Are these common for porn induced ED? Or is porn induced ED only applicable if you still get morning wood and erections during porn but you freeze up during actual sex? I've been nervous about this and all I've been thinking about all month long is how I can't get normal erections anymore. Is the fact that I'm thinking about it so much causing psychologic problems with my morning wood as well?

Experiment: give up porn and masturbation for 180 days and see how you feel then.

I told myself I will try for at least 3 months. 6 months isa bit excessive but if I have to do it then I will.
I already went to see my doctor. Blood results came back fine, cat scan came back fine. I honestly don't know what the cause might be...I doubt it's soley because of porn.

  4. If your hormones and blood vessels are okay, the problem is in the brain. Whether it's desensitization by porn or low confidence or stress, nofap should improve your situation.

    Hi Young !
First, I'm not a physician so this is just my non-medical opinion.

To check whether ED is "organic" or "mental", you can check whether you get night-time erections. There is a method of testing for night time erections that involves use of postage stamps - you can ask your physician for advice about the test method. Its simple and well-regarded. If you are getting night time erections, its a good sign that there is nothing physically wrong - and it would seem to confirm your physician's finding that there are no underlying medical issues.

If you have normal night time erections, then the cause of your troubles is likely mental - and that can result from a variety of sources, including PMO. Worrying about performance can lead to more poor performance, so relax. Stressing about it won't make things better, but likely will make things worse.

As for PMO and its effects ... yes, it can be a big reason - perhaps the only reason - for difficulties. The way to find out is to do a re-boot. The duration of the reboot can certainly vary, but at least 30 days is considered about the minimum for changes to occur. Your brain, and your body, need to re-learn how to be appropriately aroused and stimulated without the excessive mental and physical stimulation that is common to PMO.

I'd encourage you to start a reboot. There is excellent information available in the "getting started" section of this website.

I don't get nighttime erections and my penis is very small - almost like flatline symptoms and I don't feel pleasure out of ordinary things in life.

Is this likely a physical problem or dopamine issue?

My erections have been very weird lately. When I wake up in the mornings sometimes I have wood and sometimes I don't. Sometimes I'll wake up in the middle of the night just to roll over to the other side or whatever the reason may be and I do have wood but when I wake up again in the morning I have no wood. Very bizarre. I've never been nervous when having sex with someone in person. I never felt insecure or anything. The way I found out about my ED was waking up 1 day 3 weeks ago ago and on my way to work I felt my penis was very feeling very unusual. Almost like I couldn't move it while it was flacid. I have gotten erections in the past couple weeks but it's so weird because I'll get them but I can't maintain them long enough to masturbate. Other days, no matter how hard I try I can't really get an erection or I'll get one but not as "big" as I used to before this whole ordeal. This started on March 13th. I've watched porn and masturbated a few times since then but never because I was feeling horny but because I wanted to see if I can still get erections and sometimes I could and sometimes I couldn't. Right now, I'm on my 7th consecutive day of no porn, masturbation or orgasm. I had originally thought that my ED was caused by low testoserone because prior to this ED thing I had a HUGE drinking problem. So I went and gave blood and my results came back all perfect. I just want to see a urologist though to see his opinion on this. I must admit, I did watch porn quite a lot. I would never masturbate several times a day. Just once was enough for me but when I did I would make sure it lasted around 2 hours each time. I've been watching "pornography" ever since I could remember going through puberty. I'm just unsure about the inconsistency.

I gave a blood test to check for testosterone, cholesterol, etc. Everything came back good. How exactly would I test for my blood vessels and hormones?

  9. Via sonography and blood work. Besides testosterone, other hormones that might affect your ability are the thyroid hormones.

    Hi Young !

Your M technique is likely at least part of the cause of your difficulties. M-ing for two hours, aka, "edging" is really not a good thing. Your body and mind becomes accustomed to strong, prolonged, stimulation and both learn that such stimulation is "normal" for you and what it takes to get you excited and that once in that state, you'll keep up the stimulation for a long time. Basically, what happens is that lesser stimulation - that is, no P and no prolonged M sessions, no longer provide the stimulation you body and mind want (some would say now need) to become aroused.

Its also common that the more you try to perform, the worse your problem will be. The mechanisms of arousal and release are complex and while there is certainly a strong physical component, there is also a critical mental component that can easily get de-railed by anxiety and worry about performance.

    So, what's the answer ?

If your medical testing reveals no biological (organic) cause, then its most likely that your problems are truly due to PMO. In that case, a reboot is worth a try. You CAN do it, you just have to want to. A reboot certainly won't hurt your issues and there are lots of folks on this site that attest to the benefits of rebooting to address the same issues you are having.

I'd suggest getting started on a reboot. Start with at least 30 days hard mode. It may take longer to be healed; everybody is different.

There is a lot of information available on links from this sites main page about "getting started".

Now would be a good time to begin (continue) your journey to healing.

It might be a good idea to get yourself checked by a physician. There are suggestions on this site about what tests may be appropriate. You can discuss what might be best for you with your physician. If your troubles are rooted in PMO, then this is a great place for you to work on healing yourself of PMO and its nasty consequences.

I got checked by two physicians though and they said that nothing was wrong. One was from my primary care physician who saw nothing wrong and the other was by some urologist who saw nothing wrong and was willing to prescribe viagro.

Why bother getting checked again? What's the point for a 3rd opinion?

  13. Hey man, if the docs said everything was ok then stick it out, 6 months ago I was in the same situation as you, in fact I was so low I felt suicidal, my dick was shrivelled and I had zero sensation in it, I got no nocturnal or morning wood
Then I started getting morning/nocturnal wood about once a week, then about two weeks ago I was kissing my wife and I got about 40% erection
Like an idiot I’ve been checking my penis ever since and now no wood, but I have hope that I can get better, everything they say about rebooting I think is prob true, like don’t check etc
I wish you all the best brother

    Hi 'child !

Our bodies are amazing things. We do a lot to cause damage and destruction, but given some time and some proper behaviors, our bodies do know how to heal. The pathway(s) to healing aren't always straight forward, and they are rarely easy, but they do get us to a better place of healing.

    Stay strong and be well.
