So I did 90 days!

Discussion in 'Success Stories' started by Deleted Account, Apr 1, 2019.

  1. Just want to check in and report. Make a habit out of it. Did it for 30 and 60 days, doing it for 90 days as well. This is my PR, every day from this point onward is a PR. I was pretty stuck and a bad case, so if I can do it all of you guys can too.

Some improvements from 30 days ago. Social anxiety seems to be 100% gone now. I did finish 40 day water fast. Nofap definitely gave me strong momentum into it, I don't know whether I could have done it without nofap. Next I am planning to use this momentum and sexual energy to transmute it into perfecting my physical body - cardio, muscle building.

The water fast burned out a lot of food addictions and also, I feel, helped with nofap. I feel it sped up my reboot process a lot. The sexual fantasies, which I reported in my last post to be gone probably cos of my "NoFood reboot", did not come up again once I started eating again like I had expected. So that's good.

Fasting is extremely healthy mainly because of two biological mechanisms which activates during extended abstinence from calorie consumption - ketosis and autophagy. When food is not available body enters into an catabolic state called autophagy (from ancient Greek, literary meaning "self eating") where it consumes it's own cells for sustenance. The catch here is that it leaves all the good cells intact and selectively picks out only old and damaged cells.

On of the benefits of ketosis is that sugars and carbohydrates release more dopomine in the brain than if the brain would be running on ketone bodies, rather than glucose. As people who are trying to heal from sexual addictions (and for me also junk food) here that is one of the things we need to heal - our dopomine receptors. It's not the pixels of the screen or our own hand that we are addicted to, it's the dopomine hit in the brain. The more sources of dopomine we eliminate for the time being of a reboot, the faster the healing.

Apart from contributing to addiction itself desensitized dopomine receptors are also one of the primary causes of many issues people here are trying to heal from, such as depression, acne, porn induced erectile dysfunction, delayed ejaculation and so on.

Lastly ketogenic state has been shown to increase mitochondria in the brain cells. Mitochondria is responsible for the production of energy for the cells. When cells have more energy they work better and heal faster. This increase in mitochondria might help damaged dopomine receptors and other brain cells to heal faster.

I definitely recommend water fasting to everyone here. You don't have to go nuts like me and go for 40 days on nothing but water. But you could try one meal a day intermittent fasting regimen. Or 48 hour fast once a week. Etc.

As far as PMO I do feel 100% rebooted now to be honest. I did set myself goal fo 365 days celibacy/hard mode so I am going for it no matter what. But from this point the motivation is more carrots and less sticks - semen retention benefits, sexual energy transmutation, etc.

I remember few months ago in December of last year, in my journal I wrote:
"Right now I'm stuck in a hole of depression, tons of junk food, PMO and bad habits in general. Very sick of living this meaningless life. Last time I did nofap seriously years ago I reached a stage where I was on positive momentum and very happy. Wanna get back to that place. And wanna make out something of this life."

And now I can happily say that I am no longer depressed, no longer eating tons of junk food (I did had some slight "junk food", but not really compared to garbage I used to ate before water fast, my definition of junk is way too extreme now - most sane people would not consider this junk food) and no PMO. I am back to the stage of where I am into positive momentum and with positive attitude towards life and future.

I still would not consider myself happy. And there is still a way to go until I can say that I have made something of my life. But it's way better than it used to be in December of last year. And it is getting better every day. Like Tony Robbins says: "If you're not growing you're dying". I think it's true. If you look at nature stuff are aither growing or dying, nothing ever stands still. And I am growing, so I feel good.

  4. The fear of not eating is programmed deeply into our society. Most of the doctors are even miseducated when it comes to this, so you have to find a doctor who is specializing in prolonged therapeutic fasting. There are some dangers though, so it's always recommended to consult appropriate physician before starting a fast. However the dangers are nowhere near as big as you might think.

A good alternative for anybody who is not ready for extended water fasting is intermittent fasting. I strongly recommend to look into it. Helps you lose more fat due to keeping insulin levels low. And gain more muscle as well; after longer intermittent fasts body increases production of growth hormone. Helps your body recover from workouts faster too. Suppresses hunger, clears your mind and makes it more focused, etc.

There are many benefits to it. I am doing one meal a day now as maintenance fasting regimen for now. But for starters 16:8 is a good entrance point.

  5. I am doing that. I can confirm. But 40 days water with my schedule.. It is impossible. Like my brain needs a lot to work when I study with hours. And if I workout for 40 days on water I will go from 86 to 46 kg. :D

Congrats, what's the reasoning for 365 celibate?

  7. You are right, you are not supposed to exercise while we do so long water fasts. That will just make you lose a lot of muscle. To prevent muscle loss we need to stay as sedentary as possible. At the weight you are you would not lose more than 10 to 15 kg though. At first weight loss is pretty rapid but it does slow down quite a lot once the body realizes that food is not coming.

Yea, the body feels kind of weak. You will never be at your 100% physically when fasting for as long as I did. But as far as mental performance, it unbelievable how much of a boost it is. One would think that we would need food for our brain to function the best, but it seems to be the opposite. I never felt as clear and focused in my life as when I did the fast.

Anyways man, great to hear you are doing intermittent fasting. Awesome!
Why do people climb mountains or run triathlons? I just want to challenge myself and prove to myself that this is something I can do. Also setting massive goals is motivating for me. I think we feel most alive in those moments that come right after we overcome the hardest obstacles. The bigger the dragon the more gold it guards.

40 days with only water? That is very dangerous. I'm all for fasting (and I'll be doing it next month in Ramadan) and I know there are clear benefits but this is extreme. But I got to ask. How good was that first meal when you finally ate?

Anyways congrats on the 90 days! Keep it up :)

  9. Saliva like a dragon on GOT.

  10. It's only dangerous if one does not know how to do it properly. Or if they have some medical condition which does not permit fasting. Other than that it is not THAT dangerous at all. There are more dangerous things, like going to gym and lifting heavy weights for example - could kill you if you fall under that weight.

There are two things that can go wrong. One is you might run out of electrolytes, which was not issue for me because I supplemented with potassium, magnesium and sodium in my water. And another danger is breaking fast the wrong way - refeeding syndrome. But it's not that complicated; focus on high water, easily digestible foods with proper potassium, sodium balance and everything will be fine.
Haha, I don't wanna disappoint you but it was not that special. I mean it was tasty but nothing extremely tasty. My first "meal" with calories was carrot juice. After few days on juices I started to ate solid foods and my first solid food was watermelon.

I tell you one thing; in my fantasies about eating, food seemed way more delicious than it actually was. Haha. It's like I did enjoy it, but when I ate it I was not hungry. By the time fast was over hunger was gone. So imagine eating something when you are not hungry. You still might enjoy it, but you don't really care about it either, that's how it felt.
    Thanks! :)

  12. Mindfulness meditation! Very important thing, many people overlook it. And try to un-link food from entertainment. Even when you don't fast, make sure you ate simple food and ate it fast. Start treating it as a fuel.
