Before NoFap I would PMO daily, even more than once a day.

Now, I may have a relapse once every two weeks or once a month (although I find myself PMOing often during relapse until I can regain my strength to start another streak).

When I do relapse, I try to see the glass as half full. I am PMOing far less than I have in the past. I am still seeing and feeling benefits from cutting down on PMO.

On the other hand, I think that praising my partial recovery is what is leading me back to relapses. I am not looking to cut back on PMO, I am looking to quit.

Cutting down on PMO is not good enough. If I truly had this addiction under control, I would never PMO again.

Partial success is still a success, so don't blame yourself because you're not doing 100%. It's okay to be less than 100% good at something.

  3. Um. What is your goal? Quitting porn, or quitting porn, masturbation and orgasms?
What most nofappers do is to stop PMO for a certain timespan in order to overcome porn addiction. Stopping masturbation and orgasm then is the tool.
But if you want to quit masturbation and orgasms as well, you may ask yourself Why?
So if you really know your goals, and if you know clearly the way to reach them, it might be easier.

  4. I very much agree. Remember that you are still making progress if you are going from viewing porn every day to viewing it once every two weeks.

    Stay strong my friend!

Brother, I'm 100% on-board with you regarding this. We're (All of us), are fucking addicts. We NEED to stop, not cut down. People who MO once in a while, fine, they do it, get it over with, done. We're dopamine fiends!! Until I realized this was a "brain thing" (PIED) and not a "dick thing", I saw a light at the end of the tunnel. I never knew the damage I was causing. I'm 45, but healthy as fuck, no issues, testosterone in perfect range, blah, blah, blah. I'm never gonna jerk off again. I will defeat this mother fucker.
It's like booze for me, which is a huge trigger for PMO. I don't want just one drink, I want the whole fuckin' bottle!! We will win!! Tattoo that into your fuckin' brain, my friend. WE WILL WIN. WE WILL WIN. WE WILL WIN.

Hello there, I have been trying to overcome this addiction for about 3 years. My longest streak has been 176 days, followed by a 85 day streak. But now, I feel like I can finally overcome this addiction. And I say so because I discovered what was bothering me with my NOFAP journey: I was obsessed with looks, and I look into the mirror almost 50 times a day to check if I got more handsome. Whenever I feel like I do not really look as good as what I thought I was, I would be a little depressed, and often times I use PMO as a tool to relieve this "stress". NOW, I NO LONGER CARE ABOUT LOOKS. I limit the only time looking at my face in the mirror to be times when I have to, such as washing my face. And guess what? I now look better than before and have more confidence to quit PMO because I no longer have a reason to FAP. Thus, I really recommend you to reflect upon this question, "What has really REALLY led me into FAP"? Try to be as specific as possible, because sometimes the answer is hard to find. :)

  7. @Tonytone ans @JSCHINA , you both want to quit masturbation. You do have reasons for that, I guess.
But theres no reason to stop masturbation (forever), if one wants to quit using porn.

No, because porn and masturbation go together, at least for me. I cannot separate them, but I guess it is a personal opinion. However, @Veritech asked how he could quit PMO, which includes both porn and masturbation. This is WHY.

I have a very vivid imagination and can edge to fantasies for hours, I don't need porn. I need to stop jerkin' off so my brain heals, leading my dead dick to heal.

    Thank you for the encouragement.

I am pleased with the results of "cutting down" on PMO. The progress from PMO everyday to once or twice a month is nothing short of amazing.

But I believe that with this continued reasoning, when I fall back into my old obsessive "gotta watch porn instead of ...", (losing out on time, sleep, I do not eat right, I cannot have true intimacy, etc.) and I just shrug it off; I feel like I am setting myself up for my next relapse.

Cutting down on PMO is good, but Not Good Enough!
