After 178 days of nofap, I finally fapped last night. This is because for the first week of nofap I felt on top of the world. Confidence, boosted mood, attraction, etc. Then after first week I spiraled out of control, developed depression, had low self esteem, and no motivation. Most of you will say it is flatline, but it is actually your libido going into starvation mode, which is not healthy. You need to have some sort of sexual release every once in a while, especially if you're a teen like me. Look up the symptoms of low libido, and chances are, you have every single one of them. Please consider fapping once every week to kickstart your libido, especially if you do not have a sexual partner. Of course never go back to porn. After I fapped last night, my urge to go back to porn has been greatly reduced, despite popular belief. You know one of the truest quotes that can be applied do anyones life is, "everything in moderation." Fap once a week. See how it goes. I got out of my flatline the moment I orgasmed. Even the Tibetan monks dont abstain completely. That is very dangerous. If you dont use it, you'll lose it. Please just try fapping, and DONT FEEL GUILTY ABOUT IT. It is normal healthy human nature, and nearly everyone is doing it. Just some food for thought.

Do it with a real human being! How could you waste so much energy?

  3. Great experience.

There's one question, which in my eyes is very difficult to answer: how to find the right measure, how often to masturbate.
Think it's very different from person to person. And how to avoid to slowly fall back into old habits...

Usually your body knows how to take care of itself though. What about wet dreams? Those are the normal human design for having those releases. Did you ever have one during your 178 days? I know everyone is different so I'm just curious. When I would wait for a month or so I would normally end up having a wet dream and the feeling was the same as what you described, I just didn't have to fap for it.

When practicing semen retention it is key to find a frequency that doesn’t drain you and there is no post orgasm hangover 6 weeks are ideal. Depending on age

Don’t believe that moderation bullshit when it comes to porn. There is no once a week. It’s like saying hey let’s do some CRACK. Oh sure how often? Oh just once a week. How does that sound. You can’t be moderate with something so poisonous and addictive. Don’t get arrogant and complacent because of the 100 days. No porn at all, and you waste the opportunity to find a real girl that might be into you. Get with it!

  10. 6 weeks, did you read about it, or did you find it out for yourself, @STAR DUST ?

  11. Thank you for that. Devi speeks to men who practise semen retention. But my question was ment a bit different. It was about how not to fall back into an old habit. My plan for now is to cease masturbation for as long as possible, and later to do it like once in 6 weeks or once in 3 months or ??. What might be the right timespan in between so that one can get the positive effects of intentional or non-intentional orgasms that @Kai101 and @CrimsnBlade wrote about, without being in danger to let it be more and more often until it's like before the reboot.

  14. Haha. If you do it more often, you get used to it, so that it is no longer that hard. It's a learning process. You 'll do it, too.

Hey man, congrats! I was about to go to bed but I'm glad I saw this post.

I remember my first fap after 100+ days, I was so happy and it felt really healthy. It didn't feel like an obsession, it felt like pure self-love.

If you don't mind, could you share your experiences with balancing the masturbation after a while? I tried it once after 100+ and after a while I fell back to my old sex-addiction. I believe there is a way but in this community there just isn't a lot of information and support for it. So every time I see somebody try it I'm glad! I'm also trying to gather some knowledge about how to work on this new skill of balancing.

My apologies if this comes off as controversial: I commend your sense of spirit and energy with this topic. I'm happy you are making progress and feel good. You're very young and I'm taking that into account. Kai101, I'm totally fine with you sharing your experience and would never shun your process but I would be reminisced if I didn't offer my opinion on the matter. To be honest, I found your message a bit haphazard given that your audience is a crowd of individuals who are "suffering" on many levels. You would never, ever attend an AA, NA, SA, HA, etc. meeting and shout "I Relapsed and It Felt Amazing!" Doing so could actually cost someone their life. Your burst of excitement can enable others to detour from their path — a path they rely on to remain sane and alive. History has shown, through the many programs of recovery, that a conservative approach scales the best because it is easiest for a struggling populus to adopt. Radical ideas, while they appeal to a few, could easily knock people just hanging on, off course. All I recommend is that you be mindful of the messages you bring to a community of addicts. Some people are struggling on a day-to-day basis. Others are struggling from minute-to-minute. Think about your message and how it can be translated, not only by strong minds, but also by fragile minds as well. Sorry if that sounded like I was moderating the post! Good luck!

Do whatever you like, but for me, doing it in moderation has never worked out. I just couldn't keep it up. Then again, I am guy who needs to stick to firm principles because of a lack of self-control in other areas of life, too. Take care.

  19. There is a verse in the Christian bible that says "Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body." I used to interpret this to mean that pmo was fundamentally more destructive than anything else. I have come to understand this as saying that pmo is an exploitation of your own biological systems/chemistry/thoughts feelings to get a high as opposed to something external (i.e. meth). There is a question you can ask yourself: Is this masturbation for the purpose of balancing my chemistry/biology in an act of self love or am I medicating a deep wound or fear or longing or emotional hurt by exploiting my natural self and consuming my own virility in lust. I think if someone was in a perfect state of equilibrium there would be no need for masturbation. Human chemistry can vary immeasurably from person to person so I would also say its a very personal concept. There have been times in my nofap journey that I have masturbated and it has given me HUGE relief/clarity, but the opposite is also true. Alot of it has to do with my compulsiveness. If it feels good once, I continue to go until it hurts and then until I have destroyed everything. Balance is the operative word for me.

Well you're right, we can live without masturbation, certainly if we find balance in many facets of life. A life without masturbation would in this case not be a totally wasted one. I would argue though that masturbation (if it's not an addiction) is a tool for our well-being. You could banish it but if you find a way to balance it you could use it.
