  1. I can't agree with that, especially with comparing music to football. Football is full of emotions, if you are real fan, you will be with your team in both worst and best times. You will cry when your team loose and cheer when they win. Music on the other side can't offer you that kind of connection as the football does. You may be connected with your favorite artist in some way, and you can be their fanboy/fangirl, but it's still not the same thing...
But since I started this threat I realized that opinions and experiences with music are very individual. I look at music as it isolates me from the rest of the world. Some people find it opposite, music actually connects them with others. Everybody is different. I started this challenge because of myself. I'm sure that I have a problem and I want to solve it. Many people keep saying me that it isn't a problem, but nobody knows me better than myself...

  2. lol. good one.

  3. music is definitely NOT like porn. the dopamine spikes are not that high but if someone binges on music all day long, then, in my opinion, they can mess up their reward circuitry in a somewhat similar way.
and the thing is that the endless music at one's fingertips is a relatively recent invention. so i think that this pleasurable activity is being overly indulged in by the masses.
i would say that even binging on football matches, tv shows ( or any other pleasurable activity) is not a good idea.
but still these activities are definitely not as bad as porn ( for the simple reason that sex is the most intensely pleasurable activity there is ).
so in the end when it comes to music, although i am avoiding it, i would say - to each his own.

Hello I had started no PMO 3 days ago, and 30 days without Facebook 2 days ago. For me is an interesting challenge because I noticed that with the excuse of music I lose to much time and leave my homeworks.

Today was my first day but while I was having dinner my grandma was watching a music show "The Kids Voice", in my opinion it's is not my fault . I'll keep trying.

  8. Good job guys! You are doing it great!

Last 2 days were awful for me, I relapsed few times, I ate sugars and I listened to music... I need to get my things on their place, or I'm screwed.

  9. Don't be too harsh on yourself you're doing really well! I also relapsed today and feel horrible atm. Also I've noticed after every relapse I crave for sugars like crazy don't know why.

  17. Yeah, I'm a bit concerned that I may be addicted to Youtube... But I am also watching some seminars via Youtube, so I would probably need to download them if I ever decide to do these kind of challenge.

Well, you can "get away" with that as long as you do not continue to hang on FB and waste time looking for song after song or funny clips or what have you that might be of immidiate interest. Watch the seminar, then shut it down is my advice, which can be taken or leaven :)

Yes. Totally agree. However I relapsed once listening to music with very triggering content. So I have to be more careful. But at the same time. Music is much better than PMO. And I feel the feelings in my body when I listen to something that touches me. Then I can start to cry if I am in reboot. If I am in relapse I don't feel anything. So I think I should continue listening to music.

  20. I can relate to that. Although it affects me much the same regardless of my reboot/relapse status. It is healthy to cry.
