  1. I skimmed through a success story thread, and i noticed that someone said that video games were bad. Yes it is bad if you're addicted to it, but if you play it with moderation, it shouldn't be a problem.

  2. Exactly, moderation is fine but a lot of those people are addicted. So they flat out bash and say that they're just bad without thinking about why or how they got addicted in the first place, there's always a reason.

  3. We’re always eager to blame something or someone else. It depends on the person. They were awful for me and kept me in fantasy land.

  4. Well to me it's just fun, and not that bad. I used to be sort of addicted when i was younger, always playing 5-6 hours most of the time, but now i play less hours and i am absolutely not addicted.

I think the idea of getting lost in someone else's world sounds amazing, and one day others will get lost in my world, which will probably be in the form of a video game

  6. Not everyone is gonna be a video game addict. Calm down. Video games are not horrible. What's horrible is overusing your game console, which video game addicts on this site most likely do a lot.

Why calm down? I never said it was horrible, I said it was amazing, I'm not being sarcastic brah :3

  8. It sounded like you put it in a negative context. My bad. I misinterpreted you. Stuff happens.

  9. Absolutely not. Life can be pretty stressful and hard. Videogames are a good way to remedy that.

However, it is absolutely recommended to play in moderation. Playing all day without getting anything productive done or talking to people is pretty unhealthy.

  10. Personally I play way more than I should and even when there's things I should be doing, so you could say I'm addicted. The difference is I don't blame video games and know why I over play as it's a personal problem like how every addiction starts, but that's not to say I don't enjoy games though.

  11. I can play them for 2-3 hours too, but i feel like it is not an addiction, because i always do other things after i finish.

  12. There are studies showing benefits and of course we could all write at least a paragraph or more on why they aren't.

Common sense rules apply I feel.

  13. I'm really bad at videogames. I used to have a minor addiction to call of duty when I was in middle school (who didn't though). Also in high school, I liked Skyrim too much. I was horrible at these games.

In college we would get drunk and play Overwatch. I was really, really nice at that game. Then fortnite which was decent. I played all these games way to much.

Now I just am not playing any games bc I don't want to be good in that area in my life. It brings me zero benefits. Same with porn. But unlike porn, I can easily quit videogames

  14. Same. I quit gaming as it offers me no value these days.

I always sucked at console games as a kid playing with my cousins. But my one cousin was so addicted his PC gaming habit turned into a high speed porn addiction turned into OD'ing to the grave on heroin all because video games groomed him to be a raging porn addicted heroin user.

  15. Well that’s why everyone should do everything in moderation, and have more of a strong mind. Porn and drugs should be avoided forever.

  16. Jk sorry. Feeling giddy. Video games had no part to play in his death.

But porn addiction was the root of his heroin death.

  17. How can porn make you wanna get addicted to heroin? Just so this thread won’t go off-topic, PM me to answer my question if you want to.

  18. Unfortunately I can play for hours like even 5 to 7 straight. As I said though that's my problem and nobody else's, for me it's my coping mechanism for depression and anxiety that stems from my current problems.

Luckily I was able to quit my smoking and overeating addictions, and would like to cut back on games a bit in the future.

I try to avoid video games because if I start I then do it several hours per day. Even 2 hours per day is way too much, I call it an addiction. I don't take people who play video games at my age seriously.
