Hello folks, was having a discussion with a fellow no Fapper here, and thought I would post this publicly. Hope it helps someone.

    What is FLATLINE?
-In my opinion, flatline is ANY negative symptom associated with the removal and recovery from pornography addiction.
----: Insomnia, Extreme Fatigue, Brain Fog, Irritability, Cravings for junk food, loss of pleasure in activities, depression, anxiety, flu like symptoms, muscle weakness. The list goes on and on and on. I had the pleasure of experiencing basically every one of the above mentioned.
Flatline however is a necessary part of recovery and a positive sign that your brain has started to undergo maintenance.

I've developed a general concept of the two main stages you may experience DURING your flatline.

    1. Withdrawal Flatline Phase
-This phase is the hardest as you feel like shit, depressed, anxious, irritable, urges, etc. with all of the symptoms mentioned above.

    2. Coasting Flatline Phase
-Once reaching this phase, most of your withdrawals are over, your moods are stabalizing, you feel better mentally etc, HOWEVER you still dont have a working libido. No real attraction to girls etc. So your main issue during this phase is boredom. I am currently in this phase, and what motivates me during this time is posting here, contributing and helping others in their journey.

I hope this can provide some insight for some of you Fapstronauts,

    Best,
    Mateo

Yep I'm in phase 2 as well, I've been there for about 2 1/2 months now (I'm 5 months into my hardmode reboot with no relapse). I didn't really go through phase 1 though, if anything for the first 2 1/2 months or so of my reboot my attraction to girls increased a lot, and I had zero urges to PMO. I agree that the main symptoms are boredom and very low libido, and one I would add in my case for phase 2 would be emotional numbness (I'm not really feeling anything emotionally at all, whether it be good or bad feelings).

    Thanks everyone for the responses

    Champ39,

Thats very fascinating, and very lucky you didn't have to go through that. Don't hear about that very often here!

    Keep it up

Yeah it's true I haven't heard of too many other cases like mine so I'm lucky to have avoided phase 1, but one thing I'll add which may explain it is before finally giving up PMO for good 5 months ago I had drastically reduced the habit (say only doing it about once a month in the previous year), so my body was probably more ready for it than for most rebooters. And being in phase 2 I know my body is healing from the abuse of PMO, I just hope I'll be fully rebooted soon.

    Champ39,

That definately explains a lot. You've already experienced a significant amount of reboot, and you're reaping the good fruit of it.

As for me, I'm currently on month 3, still got lots of work to be done friend.

    Wish you a speedy recovery

Ok. 2 1/2 months and stage 2. Wow great job holding on.
Ok im 48 breaking a pmo since around age 13 or so . On day 48 or so. My memory is better my dreams are getting happier and easier to remember. My mood hasnt really been affected for the most part but what i notice huge is my lack of strength on the weight bench. Im struggling with the start up weight... the start up weight??
Soo im guessing when my dreams are really good my mood is great and my strength returns ill be out of stage 2 for what some call stage 2 .
Im hoping 90 days will make it but i dont think it will. As my mental state hasnt really bothered me as much as i read. But im pretty positive person and dont care what most think at all.
I guess as days go bye ill see.
Stay strong on your recovery sir.

    Yes.

I have withdrawal symptoms for 11 months now.

Muscle tension in neck/back/head, burning skin/feeling of fever, lightheadedness/dizziness, fatigue, memory and concentration problems (I guess people call it brain fog), blurry vision / eyes hard to focus, eye floaters, difficulty swallowing (I think my throat is tensed up), nerve pain in gums and teeth, no interest in girls or conversations with people at all, anhedonia, extreme pressure in head...

I can't even work on my uni degree. Or even drive a car because of the extreme lightheadedness/dizziness. It is horrible.

I PMOd multiple times a day for the last 7 years. I also had periods of abstinence. Even 2-3 months and I never had such horrible symptoms before.

Ur states not different than nobody else dude. Ur obviously in flatline. Thats exactly what flatline is. Ur libido going to the gutter.

Its a shitty reality to accept, but good news is its only temporary.
    But ya. Ur in flatline.

For me id say im on the tail end of phase 2 at this point. Im 9 months in at this point.

  19. Hi @Mateo89 Did you try some thing with a partner during reboot, i read in this forum that if you try with partner that help fast recovery. I am not sure how correct i am saying this

No unfortunately I was single throughout reboot; Also I didn't have any desire to engage sexually during my flatline, so I didnnt really see how a partner would of helped there. Whilst many opportunities did arise for me, I mindfully passed on them, as I wanted to focus on my recovery first, before I dealt with the relationship part.

For the most part you will know gradually when your flatline symptoms are subsiding, some examples for me include
    1. Getting aroused at just seeing an attractive woman
    2. No longer think or obsess about pmo
    3. Anxiety goes down
    4. Penis hangs lower, more responsive, stronger erections
    5. No longer need to count days

This is where I am currently at. I would say a couple more months and I'm good
