    Hello to everyone.

I have started the journey of noFap since January. Unfortunately, I break up and started again. So, today I am counting day 2nd. My goal is to hold on until 25 of April. Wish me Good Luck!

Anyway, my post has to do about increasing spirituality because of the abstinence. How many of you had experiences in increasing spirituality? Would you like to describe them? Do you believe that has to do with the noFap?

I want to clarify something. My post has nothing to do with religion believes, but with spirituality in the general meaning.

I would like to read your answers.

Do you mean by doing spiritual things instead of PMO? I have grown more spiritual, but I lose it when I PMO again.

Hello RomanRebel. Please forgive me but I am not very good to acronyms, so I don't know what the POM means.

Somehow I believe that all that energy that wasted by the Fap, can increase spirituality.

Would you like to describe how you developed spiritually?

Sorry, I meant to put PMO (I edited it for convenience), which means Porn, Masturbation, Orgasm.

If you want, you can use this tracker to track your progress: http://pmo-tracker.appspot.com/info?u=4629329392697344

As for the hows, I became more involved in my religion and read the scriptures more often. I even had a better will to pray earnestly.

    RomanRebel, that's great.

My theory is this. I am sure that sexual energy can transformed somehow into spiritual development. Yoga fans believes that sexual energy push and open higher chakras (some exercises helps also). Maybe this is the reason why the monks (of any religion) has increased spiritually by their abstinence.

When someone is in sexual abstinence becomes more charismatic, more attractive and has the ability to influence more people. That's why I believe that many people claims about increasing in confidence.

That's an interesting topic, yeah. On 2013 I managed to not masturbate for two months. I edged every once in a while but my goal was to not ejaculate. This combined with having my computer turned on only in the day time resulted in a lot of lucid dreams.
According to the Vedas (ancient texts from India), when we ejaculate we release big amounts of energy that we get from food, breathing and other energetic circuits from our boy. If we don't ejaculate and keep that energy, we are nourishing our subtle bodies. That means that when our consciousness leaves the body when we sleep and moves to the emotional and mental body, the ones that we use in our dreams, they become more clear and we feel more awake in them. And I must say that very few things in life can be compared to a fully conscious lucid dream. If you MO regularly, I'm sure your dreams are quite fuzzy and hard to remember.
So yeah, abstaining from ejaculating basically helps you to keep your subtle bodies healthier. However, you can still ejaculate getting more energy instead of just releasing it, thats why tantric sex exist and I heard that takes practice.
(If you're interested in lucid dreams, apart from having a dream journal, I also recommend to turn off your computer an hour before you go to sleep and spend less than 4 hours a day in front of it.)
Now I started a 100 days of no PMO, MO and edging challenge so I expect loads of lucid dreams again.

Taya Inti that's a great answer.

I am familiar to lucid dreams. I didn't know about them since someone explained that to me. Sometimes I can navigate into my dreams, knowing that they are dreams. But I know for sure that I hardly remember my dreams. I will keep in mind that to find out how much more my dreams will be increased.

Good luck with your challenge. I am sure you are going to make it.

Please keep me informed about your increased dreams.

This post hits the nail on the head. This entire concept of “NoFap”, whether people realize it or not, is a spiritual process. It’s about un-doing and un-becoming. It’s an attempt to get back to a more natural, original state. A state that through a discipline we actually become freer. Spirituality is about unity and integration of self. It’s about healing the fractured elements of ourselves. We can no longer have the working Scott, the sensually-addicted Scott, the family-guy Scott, the spiritual Scott. There can really only be one person. So, through NoFap we attempt to heal this. We attempt to shift away from compulsions and addictions and thoughtless thoughts that take us further away from who we really are. NoFap is a step in the right direction to becoming who we ought to be. Then, we may come to a day where internal divine love begins to flow, because we are no longer tied down to these chains that have kept true love from flowing. SF

    Scott you are absolutely right!!!

You have spotted very important things. I am sure that you just touched the surface of them and you already understand them in depth.

I am sure that I haven't found this forum by chance, nor decided of NoFap challenge by chance either. Somehow I know that it is the time for further enlightenment. And the only way is to use my sexual energy. I feel the boundaries or the shell that holds that energy thinner day by day. Because of that thinner shell, two choices given to me.

In one hand, I could input my self to extreme masturbation situation or sexual acts because my sexual desires has increased tremendously lately. Something like this, would lead to further exhaustion, becomes tired, frustrated and angry. Fear is a common symptom, which usually connected with panic attacks. I would not have the power to do things, complete tasks or whatever had to be done in the everyday life. The satisfaction of the extreme erotic fantasies would lead to drain the energy of my own body and I would make it vulnerable to any infection. The thinner shell of the sexual energy would not protect anymore my body and it would allow the contamination of it with anything which is non pure.

On the other hand, I have the opportunity to hold that energy (NoFap), protect the shell, given further strength to it and cultivate the sexual energy. In this process, I will realise that I can be part of something greater, and I will start to guide my sexual energy in a higher state, literally and metaphorically. Until the shell becomes stronger again, I will feel the anger of the sexual energy in my first steps, until the moment where I will become stronger day by day. In the meanwhile, I will receive all the benefits of this challenge (confidence, extra energy, exercise body, sharp mind, etc.). I will keep my energy inside of me and like this, I can surrender my self to be united with something greater. It is a sacrifice.

I am very confident that I will succeed of this challenge. If I set a goal, I will complete it, whatever it will be in my road.

Because I was very interested of the NoFap challenge and how it works, I did a lot of research about the energy which produced by sexuality. I found out amazing things about the powerful semen and my brain started to connect spiritually many different areas of life. It is knowledge which leads to further awareness.

I am in the 7th day and I am feeling my body full of energy. I love that. There is only one option. Going forward only!

Anyone else who likes to share the spiritual perspective of this challenge?

meditation and mindfulness im finding are 2 of the most powerful activities one can undertake. powerful but subtle at the same time. you sometimes wonder if its making a difference (especially in the beggining) but it soon shows itself for what it is and does so effortlessly. i can literally feel the practise 'wash' away the unease and desire to PMO and gently move me towards the realm of the 'natural'

i also found that being determined to find a wise simpler and meaningful way to live life and therefore sprituality in the first place is enough to start one the course of resistance and finally not even to resist but accept that it is NOT a wise healthy way to live- period.

LouMan, your informations are valuable. I have think also the meditation but I think its a little bit early for me. I am thinking to watch some classes of yoga, but it's not the time yet. I am trying to exercise and focus on other activities as well. I do handstand/headstand very often and I feel relieved for no reason when I do that. I have to search what's going on with these postures.

I love that I feel such energy inside of me. Everybody noticed this on my appearance. Weird, isn't it? Amazing also!
