Obvious Improvements after 53 Days of No PMO

Discussion in 'Success Stories' started by mformastery, Dec 31, 2014.

  1. Hi Fellow Fapstronauts,

53 days after abstaining from PMO, the first time I have ever been completely PMO free with no relapses since age 15 (I'm 63 now), I have noticed the following amazing yet obvious improvements:
    - Muscle and bone aches, especially around the shoulders, which have been bugging me since my early thirties, have completely disappeared
    - Ringing noise in my ears, you can imagine how annoying that can be, has gone down to an acceptable level
    - More patience, better mood and better temper
    - Better relationship with my spouse
    - More energy to do things that I used to procrastinate
    - Better social interaction, higher self esteem
    - Better sleep
    - My hands, which used to chap seriously in winter and cold weather to the degree of bleeding, chap no more this winter

My advice to teenage Fapstronauts, don't waste your life like me in PMO for 48 years (your lives are actually in your own hands:)) before realizing how wrong it is, take actions now and stick to it for the rest of your life !

    Yours sincerely,
    mformastery

I didn't realize it before but I found out that pmo is causing a lot of issues in my life. Began when I was 13, now I'm 17 and starting to quit for good. These are the issues I think are cause by pmo that I want to get rid of:

    -really, really bad social anxiety
    -stuttering, uncontrollable volume of speech
    -pleasure numbness(?)
    -depression/guilt
    -can't hold close relationships

If a 63 year old man can quit pmo, then so can I! :D

  6. Thanks Whiterose1778 for your reply, I'm sure I couldn't have made it without first stumbling on NoFap, found all the support and information I need, and then came to realize that the root causes of my health/psychological/social issues are related to my 48 years of self-sabotage by PMO. It's not too late to put myself on the right track as I'm just 63 years young, so I'm definitely going to keep moving forward !

Fantastic post! All those improvements in just 53-days. Good for you! I'm sure many more things will get better as time goes on since you have taken the steps to eliminate one of life's crippling addictions from your behavior.
    Also - Happy New Year!!!!:D

  9. Yes fitzhd, for sure more things will get better if I persist in ridding myself of the evil of PMO for good. I just hope my fellow fapstronauts (especially the younger ones) can take heed of what took me 48 years to correct, and not commit the same kind of foolish mistakes I made. Happy NoFap New Year to you too !

  12. Thanks Brahmachari for your support. The first few weeks were terrible with depression and withdrawals setting in , but after viewing the TED talks about the effects of porn addiction to our brains I realized the harms that porn addiction have inflicted on me over the past 48 years and said to myself "Enough is enough, it's time to wake up and call it quits!" I couldn't have made it without the support and information from the NoFap Community. Again, if a 63-year old can make it, you too can make it !

Also 60+ and married. About 10 years of Internet PMO and many years of intermittent PMO and compulsive sex that is hard to remember/re-evaluate/quantify. The dopamine addiction cycle is so obvious to me now when I look back honestly at my life. The support and information on this site has made a huge difference.

Life is short. So much that could have been has slipped through my fingers :). Inextinguishable regrets, but fuel for change.

  16. Thanks pmintj for your reply and support, we do have a lot in common 60+ and married, but my PMO history is much longer (48 years) compared to you (something I'm not proud of). You are right, life is short, if we keep on destroying our health through PMO, our lives would be even shorter and will definitely suffer painful endings (health/karma).

  20. Thanks changemyself ! I used to have cold hands (which was embarrassing every time I shook hands with people and their hands were warm), cold feet (noticeable when I went to bed) and sweaty feet (my socks became all wet after wearing them even for a short time) issues too, but they improved obviously after I stopped PMO for almost 2 months ago. My health, sleep, memory, focus, temper, mood and interpersonal communications are all much better since I stopped PMO. Hope you'll do the same. If a 63-year old guy can make it, so can you !
