Autosuggestion : an awesome technique for rebooting and completly heal from our addiction

    Hey there!

    My name is Phyzik and I decided to create a thread about an awesome technique that literally saved my life. This technique is called autosuggestion.

    Originally developped by Émile Coué, autosuggestion is basically implanting a positive thought in your mind and learning how to eventually make this thought happen. Specifically, autosuggestion is repeating yourself a sentence in your head 200 times per day during 21 days. I can 100% assure you that when you master this technique, you will achieve whatever you want. You will learn how to be the master of your life by using your mind. It's actually pretty simple.

    I'll start by explaining the basics of your mind according the the autosuggestion point of view. Inside your head, there are three different parts : Conscious, Subconcious and Superconscious. To make it more simple and efficient, i'll only explain the Concious and the Subconscious.

    Conscious :
    - Refers to what you think, what you choose, what you decide to do
    - Your thoughts and behaviours
    - You are the master of this part of your brain, as you can totally control it
    - Anything you intentionnaly do or think if a part of your Conscious

    Subconscious

    - Refers to whatever you obey to
    - Desires, habits, mental
    - You are controlled by this part of your brain
    - Emotions and physiological responses are parts of your subconscious

    Your Subconscious is 10x stronger than your Conscious in terms of energy. You are totally controlled by it and most parts of your personnality lie in your Subconscious. Although, it's your Conscious that decides what your Subconscious will be made of, which means you can be in total control of your life. Every thought you maintain or that you receive in your Conscious will eventually implant into your Subconcious. As in example, think of a guy who's been victim of bullying in school. This person has been told hundreds of time ''you are worth nothing'', so eventually, this negative thought will take root in this guy's Subconscious. What happen when you tell this guy ''you mean a lot to me''? He will feel bad and will most likely reject this idea, because he obeys to his Subconscious who keeps telling him ''you are worth nothing''. Your Subconscious is totally neutral, he builds from what your Conscious decides.

    Let's picture it. You are a gardener, you spend your life planting seeds and you feed yourself with what grows from your garden. You have your own seeds, and you have seeds given by your surroundings. You are the Conscious, seeds are your thoughts and your Subconscious is your garden. Who makes the decision of planting a seed? YOU. Plant a healthy seed, you will have healthy food in your garden. Plan a unhealthy seed, you'll have unhealthy food in your garden. You have and you are given tons of seeds by your surroundings, but at the end, you are the one who decide what will your garden be made of. This is how your mind works. Whatever you decide to implant in your Subconscious will eventually grow. Why does someone who's been into PMO for years end up seeing women as objects, think only about sex and turn everything into sex? Because that person planted PMO seeds, grew PMO food and keeps feeding off it. Our gardens were all made of porn and masturbation. We lived all the consequences of that. Autosuggestion will help you build a new and healthy garden.

    Autosuggestion is rebooting your garden, implanting new seeds and building a new life. You will implant positives thoughts in your Subconscious and wait for them to take roots. First, you need to find a sentence that makes you feel good. Then, you will repeat this sentence 200 times per day during 21 day. You could say it loud, but repeating it in your head also works perfectly. Why 21 days? Because it's an approximation of the time it would take to your Subconscious to hold a new thought.

    Tips on how to build your perfect sentence

    - Identify what you want to change in your life
    - Ask yourself what is your strongest desire in life
    - Your sentence must be in the positive form
    - No ''should'', ''would'', ''will'', ''have to''
    Correct : I am the master of my life.
    Incorrect : I will be the master of my life.
    Correct : I am comfortable with spiders.
    Incorrect : I am no longer afraid of spiders.
    - Your sentence must be in the present tense
    - You must feel a kind of release when you repeat your sentence. If you ask yourself if you've found the good sentence, it means you havn't. You will feel it when you find a good one.
    - Your sentence must be simple. No complicated words. Your Subconscious likes it simple.

    Examples :
    - I feel more and more relaxed.
    - I believe in myself and I deserve to be loved. (would be perfect for that guy who's been bullied)
    - I have everything in myself to succeed.
    - I am comfortable to talk in a group.
    - Day after day, I have more and more energy.
    - I am in peace with my sexuality (perfect for rebooting).
    - Day after day, I build a healthy sexuality (perfect for rebooting).
    - I love people for who they truly are (also good for rebooting).
    - I am comfortable in presence of spiders (could use that sentence for any form of phobia).

    There's an universal sentence developped by Émile Coué who basically covers everything : ''Every day, in every way, I get better and better.''

    A very important thing to know is that autosuggestion works perfectly when your mind is relaxed and peaceful. If you repeat your sentence while holding negative thoughts at the same time, you will plant unhealthy seeds in your garden, which is why I recommend meditating a little bit before your autosuggestion session. Best is to do it before bed or when waking up. Take a few long deep breaths
    until you feel relaxed enough, and begin. I use relaxation while doing it, it can help you to relax. Also, if you want it to work, you will have to visualize the sentence you are thinking of. In example, if you tell yourself ''I meet the perfect woman'', you should visualize what you consider the perfect women. See yourself cuddling, see yourself holding her hand while walking on the beach, see yourself at a picnic with her, etc. Positive visualization can be pictured as the water you will use to water your seeds in your garden. You have to keep holding positive thoughts in your mind during all your day, as they they eventually grow into your garden. The more often you do positive thinking and the more often you do autosuggestion, the faster your sentence will come to reality. Feel free to repeat your sentence more than 200 times per day. 200 is an approximation, you don't need to count it. Usually, my autosuggestion sessions last 10 minutes, twice a day. With 20 minutes per day, you're perfectly fine. You must tell your sentence slow enough so that you can feel it. One sentence at a time during the 21 days to focus all your energy on implanting that sentence in your Subconscious. I also practice autosuggestion in the bus/subway when going to work. I relax myself first and then I can do some 5-10 minutes here and there.

    I'll tell you my story about autosuggestion and how it changed my life. You can look it up on my profile if you want more details.

    Less than a month ago, I was depressed, anxious, completly fed up with life. I wanted to commit suicide, but I didn't do it. I had a little bit of hope left deep inside me. I was always surrounded with negative energy, always feeling like I was carrying something so heavy on my shoulders. I didn't know what made me feel so depressed. It has been years since I was trying to find why my life was such a disaster. Never figured out why. I've seen psychologists but didn't get any better. I refused to take pills as there was still a part of me that was convinced I could eventually get through this without medication.

    I've been taught this technique by a lifecoach. I decided to try it. I spent hours and hours trying to find a sentence that made me feel good. This is the sentence I chose : ''every day, in every way, I keep on getting better and I feel released''. This one was perfect, completly linked to what I was going through and made me feel so good. I started meditating for 15 minutes every morning and before bed time, repeating myself this sentence after meditating, visualizing myself feeling happy, in a relationship, free off all my anxiety/depression, smiling, relaxing... I also started to let go of every negative thought I held in my mind. I changed all those ''i'm feeling like shit'' into ''i'm feeling good'', all those ''i'll never be able to do that'' into ''i can do that'', etc. Took me a HELL load of energy, but I had the motivation to do it and I wanted to feel better. Everyone is capable of doing this.

    After a week of autosuggestion, I started to feel a little bit released, so I decided to continue. I was repeating my sentence while listening to the same relaxation music, so eventually, visualizing was easier because my brain made links between my positive thinking and the music. Another week passed and my life totally changed. I was randomly surfing on the web, I misclicked something and somehow I ended up on here. I got curious, wondered how the fuck could someone decide to quit fapping and quit watching porn. I started reading stories of people who suffered from PMO addiction and how stopping literally changed their life. I immediately felt a very strong emotion inside my heart. I felt this because after reading the consequences of PMO, i totally recognized myself and what I was going through. I knew I had found what kept me into depression, anxiety, pain. I had finally found out why my life was so heavy to carry, why I was always surrounded with negative energy. I had FINALLY found out what kind of chains I was bound to. For years, i've been trying to find out what was wrong with my life and after 2 weeks of autosuggestion, I had finally found my answer. I was in tears, crying of happiness, finally feeling released.

    As soon as I stopped PMO, guess what happened? Every day, in every way, I kept on getting better and I felt released. Coincidence? Certainly not!

    A month ago, I almost killed myself. Right now, I'm building a new life, and I can proudly say that I am in peace with myself, feeling released and happy.

    I truly encourage all of you to start applying autosuggestion in your life. We are all in the same boat : we are fighting against a huge and harmful addiction. Autosuggestion will help you get through this. If you do it correctly, you will see huge changes in your life and you can basically achieve whatever you want to. You want a new job? Autosuggestion. You want an healthy relationship? Autosuggestion. You want to be surrounded with positive friends? Autosuggestion. Whatever you want : autosuggestion.

    I have read about this before in many self help books but none of them really got into my heart. I was not sure how to start practice this.But now i have an idea. Thank you mate for this awesome post. Am going to practice this

    I have a question, can u only do one sentence at a time for 21 days or muitlpe sentences? Or would u recommend just doing one sentence at a time for every 21 days? Btw how do u know when ur done saying it 200 times? Do u time it? Lol

    Good question! I'll edit my post.

    One sentence at a time for 21 days. You want to focus all your energy on implanting that sentence in your Subconscious. Also, 200 times is an approximation. Usually, I repeat mine during 10 minutes in the morning, 10 minutes before bed (using a timer). You might reach 200, you might not. Doesn't matter, 20 minutes of autosuggestion is enough. Also, take your time to tell yourself your sentence. Repeating it very fast to reach that 200 times won't help, as you won't feel the sentence. Saying ''every day, in every way, I keep on getting better and I feel released'' takes me about 8 seconds.

    Hey there,

    I admire you for your faith. You will succeed.

    If your strongest desire is to find your connection back with your Creator, I would recommend asking yourself what does it mean concretly to be connected to Him.

    I must warn you to be careful with the words "sacrifice" and "dying". Your Subconscious is neutral, it doesn't understand the real meaning of things in their context. No matter how Prophet Muhammad understood and taught this verse to his companions, your Subconscious will NOT understand its real meaning. It will understand "sacrifice" and "dying". Whatever you repeat will eventually implant in your mind and eventually, it will be exactly what you will attract.

    Personnaly, I would never take the chance to use "sacrifice" and "dying" in an autosuggestion sentence. Your garden will be filled with sacrifices and death.
    This is exactly what you will end up feeding from. You need to think about what it is to be connected with your Creator. If it involves you sacrificing yourself and dying for Him, you have found the perfect sentence. It really depends on what you truly want... Ask yourself what is it concretly to be connected with your Creator.

    Thanks for sharing. I am going to practice this and see how it goes. I can tell there is something to this. After reading the example sentences, one sticks out to me. "I am in peace with my sexuality". I can barely even say that because it is a total lie right now. So my question is, if I continue to say that and make progress with Nofap, will it get easier to say and come true?

    Yep, totally! If this one is hard for you to say, you could use "day after day, i become more and more in peace with my sexuality". Saying "I am" is more powerful, but if you have negatives thoughts in your mind, it might not be the best idea to use that form. The second one is easier.

    I'm generally quite poor at this sort of thing. If I were to pick a sentence that makes me feel good and then write it out two hundred times a day like a school kid writing lines would that have the same effect?

    Yep! Just be careful to not end up considering it as a ''task'' that you have to do. It will alter your positive thoughts and then it won't work as good as it's supposed to (even though it would still work).

    I enjoy writing by hand so I don't think it will become a task. I'll just have to break it up so I'm not doing it all at once; writing is only a chore when your hand gets sore.

    Yes, Using negative words in the affirmations is very dangerous!

    I think affirmations should be simple and precise, n like u said, in present sentence.

    This self-hatred has been building up so long making me think I don't have the power to change. I'm researching autosuggestion now and intend to start using it.
